EPIPHANY

                                        EPIPHANY

Basked in the Fluorescent haze

Eyes tracking the lines in the floor

Pondering my lovely lonely ways

And how much more I can endure

Silent elegies left on voicemail

Charting a shipwreck yet to be

Please tell me what this will entail

Or hear my ever heartsick plea

Four spoonfuls in and I’m weak

That medicine might not go down.

Too crippled to even try to speak

Too vanquished to accept your crown.

Hoped my scars would heal your heart

Before it’s armor of stone took hold

Baby we both valiantly did our part

But sometimes the wisdom is in the fold

Feels like a curse that something so good

Cuts so harshly and with such glee

Although the outcome is understood

I’m bartering how not to be free

Waking up just to count the days

Till this love won’t leave a hole

Wallowing in the poetry he prays

And ceding every ounce of my control

And then comes the moment I dread

Love whisked away like leaves on the air

And all of the pleas overflowing my head

Have done nothing to help me prepare

Where once my soul pained with need

Now it’s loss that fuels this heart to break

Hours wondering where this will lead

Are to naught as my heart dulls to ache

Meeting Mark Patton

Wow this has been a whirlwind week. Next week is probably going to be a massive comedown because i have NOTHING going on but it wouldn’t live up to 3 concerts and a horror convention anyway. Today I went to the 2nd Annual New Jersey Horror Con in Atlantic City to meet one of my first major crushes when I was a little queer boy still figuring himself out, Mark Patton aka Jesse in A Nightnare on Elm Street Part 2. For those who don’t know the history of that movie, I’ll probably have to do a whole separate post about it but suffice to say it’s one of the gayest movies ever made by (mostly) str8 people who didn’t realize they were making something gay. The high school gym teacher finds Jesse in a leather daddy bar and brings him back to the gym where he prepares to whip him with jump ropes. Seriously. But I digress. Mark later came out, pop culture billed him as the first (and so far only) male scream queen, and he wrote a biography and crowdfunded and produced a movie about his Nightmare experience. As a gay horror fan who bemoans the lack of queer representation in the genre, Mark is an icon. And he’s pretty damn hot in the movie too lol

Cody Simpson and the Tide Live at the Mercury Lounge

Wow. Considering Cody started out being marketed as a Bieber clone, it’s rather remarkable how much he’s grown artistically. This was a show at the Mercury Lounge in NYC on 3/24/19. His voice was soulful as fuck and he wailed on the guitar solos a lot of the time. The only video clip I managed to take (when someone wasn’t either knocking into me because they were bopping along to the music or blocking my view with their own cell phones) was of On My Mind, which I love, though here it’s acoustic.

Ginger Hottie

This is one of my most recent Tumblr crushes, and the last before the site for all intents and purposes kicked the bucket. He’s 19 and a very sweet guy besides being sexy as fuck.
