Deep Cuts Corner: Volume 2 - Stevie Nicks

1) Frozen Love by Buckingham Nicks - I could have chosen at least half a dozen songs from this debut album by Stevie and Lindsey Buckingham which criminally has never had a proper re-release on digital or cd. It's shocking that this brilliant song collection sank without a trace, but then if it hadn't, we might never have gotten the wonder of Rumours era Fleetwood Mac.

2) Blue Lamp - Stevie originally recorded this song for the Heavy Metal soundtrack. It's epic in all the right ways. I chose to highlight this demo version, though I love this and the studio version equally, but this version features Stevie on fire, raw and venomous.

3) Love's a Hard Game to Play - written for Stevie by Bret Michaels of Poison and released on her first solo greatest hits set, Timespace, this is criminally underrated and almost never gets played on stage. Sidenote: the other "new" track at the time on Timespace was Sometimes It's a Bitch, written by Bon Jovi, which is also a damn good song.

4) Sleeping Angel - written for the Fast Times at Ridgemont High soundtrack, this is early Stevie at her most sublime.

5) If You Ever Did Believe by Stevie Nicks (featuring Sheryl Crow) - written for the Practical Magic soundtrack, this is gorgeous. Stevie and Sheryl are always magic when they sing together, but this is a semi forgotten gem.
